Sermon Title: "Returning to the Altar"
"مذبح کی طرف لوٹنا"
Text: Genesis 35:1
Preached by Pastor Jamshad Hadyat
Date: Sunday, September 12th, 2021
In this sermon, Pastor Jamshad sheds light on the divine call for Jacob to return to Bethel, the place where he first encountered God and was instructed to construct an altar for worship and communion.
Driven by fear of his brother, Jacob had sought refuge at his uncle's home, dwelling amongst the uncircumcised and idol worshippers. He had a family and a flourishing business, all while God's blessings were upon him. However, he had strayed far from Bethel, the initial meeting place with God. God urged Jacob to come back to Bethel.
Bethel symbolizes the place of divine encounter, where humanity meets divinity.
Reflect upon your current spiritual position. Are you distant from your altar? If so, take a moment, attentively absorb this sermon, and make your way back to your Bethel. Restore your altar, rekindle fellowship with God, and worship Him there. He desires to alleviate your spiritual drought and maintain an unbroken, intimate relationship with you.
